Feng Shui

Feng-Shui means "Wind and Water". The ancient term for Fengshui was ‘Kan Yu’. Fengshui has a history of 2000 years. Literatures on the Fengshui teachings were found in 25 Ad during East Han Dynasty. The Yin/Yang forms the basis of Fengshui and this theory is believed to have been formed in the period 770 B.C – 475 B.C.

Among the many scholars who have contributed to Fengshui, the most important are Yang Jun-Sung, Sang Wen-Shan, Liu YU and Lai Jen-Wen. All these four were from the Tang and Sung Dynasty.

A Feng-Shui audit involves the analyses of the energy patterns called Chi energy (Ki in Japan and Prana in India) within a building and also the masculine and feminine energies called the Yin & Yang.

The basics of Fengshui are:

Yin Yang

Yin is the masculine energy and Yang is the feminine energy. The white portion the Yang (male) aspect and the dark side is the Yin (feminine) aspect. The small white portion in the Yin says that in every feminine energy there is some masculine energy. The small black portion in the Yang portion says that there is some feminine energy in every masculine energy. It is always the union of the opposites that would give results. This principle is used in fengshui to create balance of energies in a place.

Five Elements: It is believed that anything in this world pre-dominantly belongs to one the five elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water & Wood. These elements interact in either a creative or destructive way with each other. Understanding the elements is important as all the remedies are based on this principle.

Trigrams: These are complex symbols consisting of three rows of horizontal straight line. These lines would either be a full straight line or a broken straight line. These trigrams have their own qualities and they inter-combine and create more complex symbols.
